NEW YORK – Bloomingdale’s new director of home fashions is an expert in interiors, style, design, branding and strategic positioning.
Kelley Carter will work with the retailer’s merchandising and marketing divisions to amplify home trends both in stores and online, according to reports from WWD and ExBulletin. She is charged with trend forecasting and finding new resources in soft home, housewares, tabletop, furniture and luggage.
Carter comes to Bloomingdale’s with a broad scope of content experience. Since 2015, she has been the writer/product designer/styles for I Am Kelley Carter. She previously served as creative and strategy director for Fashion Bomb Daily, contributing style editor for O, The Oprah Magazine, lifestyle editor for Refinery29 and senior market editor for Real Simple.

Carter told the publication that the customer’s greatest needs of the moment include linens, household perfumes, electric appliances and kitchenware – “things that make the home more comfortable and luxurious during this uncertain time.”
