This bathroom has so many great design points. These Metropolis star tiles are stunning with their antique style finish, and we love the step-up to where the bath sits and the alcove shelf that features them too. The white metro wall tiles add balance and prevent the overall look from becoming too over-the-top. The wooden bench and shelf tie in the colours from the tiles and it all works visually – go forth and copy this look – it has the thumbs up from us!
2. Choose a subtle floral bathroom tile
Atia loves colour (the name says it all, @thebrightbloomshome) – check out her instagram feed, it’s stunning! She has recently revamped her bathroom and chose these gorgeous coloured encaustic cement Sakura tiles from Otto Tiles. They can be used on walls and floors and in the kitchen, hallway and outdoors too. We love how Atia has painted her bath to match!
3. Pair cool greys with hints of blue

Grey is an easy-on-the-eye shade and works well in most rooms, this bathroom is no exception. The grey/blue larger square of the Norwich Victorian floor tiles is a versatile colour that looks great with that pop of electric blue. Although the London stone half tiles are more dominant as they are darker on the wall, the floor tiles hold their own and the pale blue of the bath brings the two together. Choose towels that match that bright blue for impact.
4. Stencil over old bathroom tiles
Sarah desperately wanted to update her bathroom that had been the same since she moved in, but with a tight budget and grey floor tiles that were actually fine she decided to have a go at stenciling on top of them instead. The aim was a trad design that looked real but Sarah wanted them to look lighter so she painted them white first with @zinsser_uk primer and all coat white paint. Once dry, using the Bagpath tile stencil from @thestencilstudio and Al Fresco grey paint from @frenchiepaint in Greyhound Grey, Sarah spent a few hours on her knees and then finished it off with a clear water-based varnish! We think this bathroom floor tile idea it was totally worth it as the finished look is fabulous!
4. Go for a classic green bathroom tile
If you love the Mediterranean feel, then invest in these Madeira Amparo tiles which are inspired by the sunny climes of Portugal. Made from cement, the graphic design features soft blues and greens – perfect for a creating a patchwork style tiled floor. Metallics look great with these colours – gold or silver – whichever you prefer will look stylish and eye-catching. Team with rustic wood for an authentic ‘holiday’ vibe.
