In addition to landscaping your island and bonding with villagers, one of the best parts of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is definitely decorating your home. While you start out living in a humble tent, the game provides ample opportunities to build, expand, and customize a real house—then fill it with all sorts of furniture, decorations, and accents!
If you’re anything like me, your Animal Crossing home is more cohesive in its design than your real-life living space, but I’m here to help you change all that. The following are 12 pieces of Animal Crossing furniture that you can buy in real life, bringing your beautiful island abode into the real world!
1. This rustic log bench with ample uses
One of the first DIY recipes you’ll likely get in the game is for a Log Bench, and while you can definitely use it to add seating to your home, it’s also quite handy as a stand-in kitchen counter (since the real thing is notoriously hard to find) or shelf for decorations!
If you love the rustic, handmade vibe of this item, you’ll love this pine bench, which is made from solid wood and has a live-edge finish. It gives off serious log cabin vibes, and it could be used at the end of your bed or in your entryway.
Get the Glacier Country Puritan Pine Bench from Home Depot for $285.99
2. The cute industrial-style coffee table
Personally, I love the industrial-inspired aesthetic of the game’s ironwood furniture series, and I especially love placing these Ironwood Low Tables around my virtual home—they’re perfect for displaying plants! You can get the same look in your actual home from this wheeled coffee table, which has a metal base, complete with caster wheels on one side, and a natural wooden top.
Get the Trent Austin Design Solid Wood Wheel Coffee Table for $419.99
3. The camping cot you probably slept on when you first started playing
When Tom Nook first dumps you on your island, you have to live in a tent, and chances are you either had a sleeping bag or a camping cot to rest your head at night. While you’ve probably upgraded to a real bed in Animal Crossing, that old Camping Cot might not be such a bad investment for outdoor explorers. This cot folds up into a compact form for easy packing, and its ripstop polyester sleeping surface will be a step up from snoozing on the ground.
Get the Maine Military Camping Cot from L.L. Bean for $129.95
4. A plain but pretty rocking chair for your porch
Another one of my go-to DIY recipes in the game is the Rocking Chair, which is perfect for filling up an empty corner of your home or placing alongside one of your favorite island gardens. Similarly, every real-life porch needs a rocking chair where you can relax and watch the world pass by, and this wooden option is simple yet classic. It would look at home on just about any patio.
Get the Loon Peak Greenwood Rocking Chair from Wayfair for $205.99
5. These simple black outdoor sconces
For whatever reason, I haven’t found a lot of good lighting options in Animal Crossing, so I mostly decorate my home with these Iron Wall Lamps. The design is fairly classic—and quite versatile—so it’s no surprise that you can find a similar product in real life. These Allenbury Outdoor Wall Sconces have the same wide triangular shades and arched arm, and they’d look beautiful on either side of your front door.
Get the Allenbury Outdoor Wall Sconce from Lumens for $169.99
6. Cute wall planters where you can grow ivy
I’m on a mission to collect all the plants that New Horizons has to offer, and these wall-mounted Potted Ivy Planters can be found in almost every single room of my home. (Not to brag, but I have quite a few rooms now… and I’m quite deeply in debt.)
If you love the look of these planters, why not get them for your own home? The Concrete Hanging Planter has the same semi-circle shape, and it would look awesome with a viney ivy plant crawling over the sides.
Get the Concrete Hanging Planter from CB2 for $33.96
7. This rustic log bed that one of my villagers owns
I stopped in to visit my Ozzie to snap a picture of this rustic Log Bed—my own tastes involve a lot more pink, but I can appreciate his down-to-earth vibe. The good news is that this same bed is available online, and it’s handmade by the Pennsylvania Amish, so the quality is top-notch. The bed frame has a rustic appearance thanks to the natural knotted wood, and I’m pretty confident in saying that Ozzie would approve.
Get the Trumbull Rustic White Cedar Log Double Side Rail Standard Bed from Wayfair for $1,299.99
8. A pretty blooming plant that will help purify the air
As I mentioned, I have a plant obsession both in real life and in Animal Crossing, and hands down, my favorite in-game plant is the Anthurium. My virtual plant has pink flowers, but you’re more likely to come across red blooms in real life. In addition to being a lovely addition to your home, these vibrant plants help to purify the air of toxins—just another reason you should get one!
Get the Costa Farms Blooming Anthurium Plant from Home Depot for $31.99
9. A colorful freestanding hammock for summertime relaxation
After a hard day of landscaping, there’s nothing better than kicking back in a comfy hammock to relax with a cold beverage. I placed this colorful Animal Crossing Hammock down on my island’s beach, but the real-life version would be a welcome addition to any yard. You could put it under some trees for a shady retreat or in the sunshine for your new favorite sunbathing spot. The choice is yours!
Get the Tropical Hammock with Stand from Macy’s for $159
10. An elegant bistro-inspired dining set
My girl Tia the Teapot Elephant is definitely one of our island’s trendsetters—for instance, she uses this lovely Iron Garden Table and Chair indoors. You can take a page out of her book with this three-piece bistro dining set, which features the same pretty floral design. It’s meant to be used outside, so you could place it on your patio, but you could also put the set in your kitchen to create a cute breakfast nook.
Get the Oakland Living Corporation Elegance Beach Sand Cast Metal 3-Piece Outdoor Bistro Dining Set from Amazon for $247.48
11. An adorable gnome friend for your garden
Flowers are a big part of Animal Crossing, and you can spruce up your in-game gardens with this adorable little gnome, who will watch over your rare hybrid blooms. You can get the same dedicated watchman in real life, too. This gnome statue has a purposefully distressed appearance, and he’s holding a shovel, just in case you need a hand with your gardening.
Get the Zelma Resin Gnome with Shovel Statue from Wayfair for $23.99
12. Comfy rattan chairs for your patio
As the warm weather rolls around, chances are you’ll be spending more time outdoors, and you can make your patio space more inviting with a pair of wicker chairs, just like the ones in the game. The chairs are made from rattan, and they include a comfy cushion for lounging. It might very well be your new favorite spot to play on your Nintendo Switch!
Get the Beachcrest Home Willow Barrel Chair from Wayfair for $249.99
13. A glove-shaped chair for baseball fans
There are a number of “throwback” items to be found in the game, including this Throwback Mitt Chair. To be honest, I didn’t think I would be able to find one in real life. However, the internet delivered bigtime, as not only did I find a baseball glove chair, but it also comes with a matching baseball-shaped ottoman. Perfect for a man cave or kids bedroom!
Get the Crown Mark Baseball Glove Chair/Ottoman on Amazon for $269.99
14. A pretty pink essential oil diffuser for your bathroom
To no one’s surprise, my Animal Crossing home has a bubblegum pink Fragrance Diffuser. You can get one of these bad boys for your own bathroom for a surprisingly affordable price, and it also comes in red, green, and white, in case you have a different aesthetic. Just fill it up with water and a few drops of essential oils, and your house will smell delightfully welcoming in no time.
Get the SERENE HOUSE Ranger Essential Oil Diffuser from Urban Outfitters for $25
15. That cool shell bed—except as a pool float
It’s no secret that I’m a bit infatuated with Diana, so it only felt right to use a piece of her elegant decor to round out this list. While I tried my best to find a real shell-shaped bed to include, the closest match was sold out, so we’re going with plan B. Instead, I present to you this seashell pool float, which will make you feel every bit as regal as Diana as you lounge in the sunshine this summer.
Get the Swimming Pool Inflatable Float Colossal Sea Shell from Amazon for $65.99
