Vintage Bathroom Decor Ideas: Pictures & Tips From HGTV

If you’re updating an old bathroom or installing a new one, vintage bathroom decor ideas can help you decide on the style for your space. Vintage decor elements can be used in just about any bathroom design style, providing a historical and charming element that hints at days not-too-long past.

Vintage decor is generally defined as incorporating accessories and other decor elements that are from or inspired by design eras less than 100 years old. Most design experts agree that once a decor item passes the century mark, it graduates to antique status — but prior to then, most will fit snugly in the vintage category. Currently popular vintage eras generally stretch from the 1920s to the 1950s. While it’s not uncommon for items from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s to be referred to as vintage, a design dictionary might be more likely to define these as “retro” until they’ve

BBC – Homes – Design

Of all the rooms in the house, the bathroom needs the most flexible lighting scheme. It should be bright enough to enable you to put on make-up or shave, but you don’t want to take a relaxing bath under a 100 watt bulb. It must also be safe.

European safety regulations are rightly rigorous, stating that bathroom fittings must be completely encased to avoid shorting and electric shocks, and double insulated with the bulb and all metal parts covered. Don’t ever be tempted to use a conventional light fitting that’s not intended for bathroom use. Light switches must be either outside the bathroom or fitted with a pull cord.

Bathroom lighting

When the lighting in a bathroom is done well, it can look stunning; just think of all the materials that were made to be bathed in light – porcelain, glass, stainless steel and marble. Be careful,

Celebrities Smoking in Met Gala Bathroom

As Kylie Jenner’s epic selfie has proven, the real fête at last night’s Met Ball was in the bathroom. But her photo only skimmed the surface. It turns out, A-listers really let loose in the restroom after walking the red carpet and keeping it classy at the gala itself.

Celebrities captured the undercover hangout on Snapchat, and the screenshots say it all. They lounged, mingled, smoked cigarettes and staged even more photoshoots. (It’s like a scene in an angsty high school coming-of-age film, except the characters are all in black-tie attire).

Bella Hadid, Lara Stone, Paris Jackson and Ruby Rose got comfy on the tiled floor to share a smoke.

Ashley Graham took snaps of Adwoa Aboah, Slick Woods and Jourdan Dunn.

Dakota Johnson openly lit up, and so did Rami Malek and Rita Ora—while posing for a mirror selfie.

Elle Fanning, Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, Lily-Rose Depp and Cara Delevingne

Darius LeBeaux

Bachelor of Interior Design

Darius LeBeaux didn’t come to LSU intending to study interior design. “I was a biology major first, and I found myself unhappy,” he shared.

When he was young, Darius was interested in interior design without necessarily realizing it: he would re-arrange the furniture in his room every season, and when he arrived to new spaces he liked to run through to explore them, curious about the new interiors.

“I wanted to be able to use my creativity, and I was curious about interior design, so I decided to switch.”

That curiosity grew into passion. “What interests me the most about interior design is the design process: coming up with a concept, space planning, and construction documents – because every project has its own challenges. Those challenges make you think and learn something new every time.”

As a designer Darius aspires to create spaces “where
